The Flyfisher's Classic Library

This year is the 10th anniversary of The Flyfisher's Classic Library. In 1991 'Days and Nights of Salmon Fishing’ by William Scrope was Justin Knowles' first publication and since then The Flyfisher’s Classic Library has published over 70 classic titles. Some of the Library’s customers have been with the company since the beginning and have collected every single book.

The Flyfisher's Classic Library is acknowledged as the world's premier publisher of out-of-print fly fishing titles. Customers from all over the world are enjoying building collections of books of the highest quality in terms of both content and binding.

As publishers dedicated to the production of classic fly fishing titles, the Library’s aim is to offer books that are not mere facsimiles but genuinely new editions, usually based on the original first edition but including relevant additions to provide the most comprehensive text, together with the finest illustrations.

Many books feature specially commissioned introductions from leading authorities and previously unpublished manuscript pages, letters and photographs. From time to time the company publishes original titles such as The House the Hardy Brothers Built by James Leighton Hardy which is an important addition to angling history.

Authors published by the Library include F.M. Halford, F. Francis, J.W. Hills, H.T. Sheringham, Sir Edward Grey, H. Plunket Greene, A. Ransome and G.E.M. Skues.
