Plastazote Emerger

This is a variation on a theme, but I have found it to be effective on really calm days when you just need to leave the fly to float.

Pattern

Hook: Ashima F50 size 10
Thread: Black
Abdomen: Bodyglass tied tight and flattened by winding
Hackle: Black hen (three turns)
Wing and head: Black plastazote.

Tying

Tie in after the hackle and take forward with
tight turns around. Then take the thread back to the hackle and bring the plastazote back leaving a round head. Cut off enough to give the wing.
