Terry
Lawton: Another powerful rod but but one that will short cast very
well and accurately with just two rod-lengths of line extended. Although
the action is fairly fast, it is quite forgiving even if a bit hard work.
I couldn't help thinking that the rod would be better with a heavier line.
When I put a 6# on it I found the rod to be much pleasanter to cast. The
extra line weight took away the hard work. There was some vibration and
I thought that the rod could be a bit better damped.
This
rod had some good fittings on it - particularly the reel seat which provides
sensible protection to the end of the rod handle - and although well made,
it was not quite up to the standard of the Greys and Loop rods. The coating
on the ring wraps let it down. The cosmetics above the handle and the
first stripping ring are trimmed with metallic silver wraps which was
quite attractive.

Lewin: The build quality of this rod is pretty good - I like the matt
green blank and matt green reel seat. The blank was 'chunkier' than that
of something like the Loop 8'8" and as a result the casting was a
little 'heavy' and fairly hard work. But casting was easy and I'd imagine
this would cope better than the Loop in stronger winds.
