Siman Tube Bodies

Jan Siman's new Tube Body, for making flies with extended bodies is a revelation for anyone who has struggled to make deer hair detached bodies. How the tubes are made is a closely guarded secret. Tube Body is available in a wide range of styles, sizes and colours.

Tube Body is soft and flexible and is a very good imitation of the shape and silhouette of flies such as mayflies and caddis. As Tube Body is hollow, each body contains air bubbles which will help the fly to float.

The Tube Body material is ideal for easy and flawless tying of extended fly bodies. It perfectly imitates the true shape and silhouette of an insect, such as mayfly or caddis. With Tube Body you can quickly create flies that are excellent floaters ò the Tube Body is hollow, contains air bubbles, making the fly bob on the surface like cork. Tube body is flexible and soft fly body, the spooky fish keeps it !

With Tube Body you can tie very attractive mayfly duns with trailing shucks or mayflies with tails. As Jan Siman says, with Tube Body you can tie a caddis pupa in a few seconds. "Put the Caddis Pupa Tube Body on the hook with the body extending over the hook gape and secure it with tying thread. Add a soft hackle and that's it!"

Tube Body can be used in combination with other Siman tying materials including Dubbing Brush and Softdub. While the Dubbing Brush and Softdub create a fuzzy silhouette, the Tube Body produces one that is highly realistic. Dubbing Brush can be used to tie the thorax and legs, especially those of nymphs, duns and emergers.

Tube Body is more than just a quick and easy way of producing detached bodies as it offers the progressive fly tyer a range of styles and colour combinations in the same body that would be difficult to achieve using normal fly tying techniques.
