December 1999: Well, what parsimonious lot we fly-fishermen are, to be sure. No sooner do I mention that there is wild fishing to be had for the price of a couple of pints than mails start dropping in like confetti. More cheap fishing from Jon Beer.

All in all it wasn't a bad day, and I will be back at Blackton before the season is over, as will many others, both locals and visitors, who appear to find this the best of the Teesdale waters. More on the Teesdale area from Paul Kane.
